Bill/ Suuny and getting warner
With Tracy being gone, I've made a list of lots of jobs to do to keep myself from getting bored. Trying to do several a day is keeping me busy. Some are bigger chores and other are smaller. Plus, I'm still ordering boat stuff for her to bring back.
I've fixed things like the freshwater pump from Shurflo that just kept surging every time it was turned on. High pressure to low pressure over and over. I cleaned the filter before the pump--no good. I switched out the filter that's just past the pump--no good. I email Shurflo and in a matter of a couple of hours, they emailed me exactly how to solve it. Theres a small allen screw on the body of the pump that controls the pressure. I turned it slightly clockwise and voila, all fixed. I'm filing that little fix in the back of my mind.
The Force 10 stove has had a problem with it's burners. If you turned the oven knob, you could light the burners on the top of the stove as well as the over. Each burner is supposed to work the same as the oven knob so did some research as well as contacting Force 10. Again, they came through with all the info I needed to get the job done. Now, all the burners work just fine. It's like new.
Many years ago, someone changed how the boom was set up and in doing that, they took out all the screws that hold the boom crutch(supports the boom when the sails are down)to the boat. It just kept an ing in its bracket. I drilled out the holes and threaded it for new screws. Now it's all set and nice and tight on the boat. No more rocking around when the sails are up.
I cleaned off the top of the work bench as well as the nav station. Both are clutter and junk magnets and they had crossed over to the point of horrible. Now they are nice and clean.
The jobs I've done are too numerous to name all of them here but the list continues so each day is another adventure into fixing boats in exotic locations. Off to the forward head to service it--again!
Here's a picture of the boom crutch. The odd stainless steel tubes are for our bimini that was taken off for storage while we are here.
