Still motoring north to Namibia

Bill/ sunny and warmer
What wind we have comes and goes with very little in the forecast. Maybe 5 to a max if we are lucky of 10 but we haven't seen that this trip. With that being said, when the winds do come, the motor is turned off and all the sails are pulled up or rolled out and we SLOWLY glide along. We got to sail for a whole 30 minutes this morning before they died all over again. The diesel station in Luderitz is going to love us. The morning dawn with just about total overcast and it slowly burns off as the day progresses. This morning, we had no dew on the deck or dodger so we are getting into a more arid climate as we go north along the coast. Much of Namibia is a desert so it's no surprise. We can see the coastline off out starboard side and it looks like a barren rock. The amount ofbirds has dropped as has the seal population. We do from time to time see one but not like we did farther south. At the rate we are going, we should be in Luderitz early tomorrow morning giving us time to get settled and checked in with their Immigration and Customs people. We've heard from other cruisers that it takes about ten minutes so it should be a breeze. As we get farther north, the air and water temps are getting warmer with the water now at 71 degrees, up from the 56 we had in South Africa. At 71, it's like the water in the Baja. Swimmable but you have to keep moving. Just saw my first seal of the day, playing off our starboard side. Swimming and diving, not sunning himself while floating on his back with his feet in the air. More ships passed us last night but the closest was still over three miles away and thats just fine. The full Moon gives us lots of light at night as the air is so clear. It's going to be interesting to see how many stars we will see when we get to a New Moon phase. We did about 120 miles yesterday so while not great, it's just fine and nice and easy and we aren't breaking anything. Sorry, not much exciting going on at this time but tomorrow we enter a new country. I thinks it's our 20th since we left the US.
