Man-O-War Cay 2-26-2009
27 February 2009
My engine still wouldn't start in Great Guana, so I sailed (off the mooring) to Man-O-War Cay. I had a great sail. I reefed the main, could probably have put another reef in. The wind was blowing 17-25 and I was doing 4-7 knots. It was great-just what this sailboat is supposed to do. I called Tow Boat US to tow me into the harbor to the marina since I couldn't sail in-too narrow and shallow. There are 2 boat yards here and it seemed the best place to come since there wasn't anything in Great Guana. The water was unbelieveable-like looking into a swimming pool with a blue bottom-but it was 15 ft deep or more. It was a cool day though, I put a jacket on and you will be happy to hear, I had my life jacket on and was teathered in! It was a good thing-kind of wild out there, but great.
