Green Turtle Cay Continued
19 February 2009
Mike took the ferry to Treasure Cay to get a plane to Palm Beach to go back home-I'm on my own again.
I spent the rest of the morning cleaning and reorganizing. We had met 2 single guys in the bar the night before and one of them-another Mike-came by and invited me to his boat later. I went down to his boat-a Hunter 38.5-very nice-He's a retired cop from Racine, WI. We talked and I used his computer for a quick email then went back to the boat for a nice nap!
Everyone had email but me-several people tried to help me get on unsuccessfully. Finally, the last day IB and Rebecca came oonboard and were able to get it. It was some weird thing that I had to type 1.1.1/index at the top-don't know how they knew that.
My dingy is leaking more air-I pulled it around the dock to the old boat ramp. I had some adhesive in cans from about 1 /12 years ago. It was bad-the kicker had kicked on it's own. There wasn't anything I could do. Keep pumping it up I guess.
I met a couple named Heather and Pete from Nova Scotia. He is a physician and built his 31' sailboat in 11 months! He's english with a great sense of humor. He told me he wrote a cruisers guide in Nova Scotia.
Laundry was expensive-$17.00 for 2 loads at the coin machines. $4.25 per washer and dryer. Water everywhere is 25 cents a gallon
Golf carts can be rented everywhere for about $50.00 a day. Not many vehicles-some Ford Pickup truck or suv's
