Customs/Immigration Check-in

12 January 2016
Contrary to some information on Noonsite etc, it is not necessary to anchor your boat off Chalong to check-in or check-out. You must have your AIS switched on, the Harbour Master at Chalong can check the boat position anywhere in Phuket. You must provide the MMSI number. Check-in was straightforward and only took 45 minutes or so mostly because there were two yacht crews in front of us. It should be remembered that all crew & passengers must attend immigration to have their photographs taken.
