arrived Mossel Bay
25 December 2011
Merry Christmas everyone!
We left Port Elizabeth yesterday morning at 05:00 and arrived this morning 10:00 here at Mossel Bay. We had a very windy and bumpy ride for most of the 190 nm as the E'ly wind blew with 30-35 kn for most of the night and the following swell was 3-4 m high.
When we came in, the children spotted a Hammerhead Shark and there are lots of seals around. We caught a mackerel which will be our Christmas dinner. As the small marina is full, we are now alongside a fishing boat, better than to anchor at the recommended anchorage outside the harbour's breakwater which is very rolly at the moment.
Our friend Wolfgang came to visit us at lunch time and tomorrow he will take us on a day trip in his Landrover inland to an Ostrich farm. We will stay a few days here before we are heading to Cape Town.
