ETA for Hamburg: Mo 21:30

Hi all, after a sunny warm morning we had a showery front with strong gusts to pass us. At least the wind veered now from SE to SW so we should be able to sail tomorrow the last 55 nm to the city center of Hamburg, the strong 2-4 kn flood current will help us for 6 hours. Our arrival time is still scheduled for 21:30. Our phone numbers here on board are: 0175-1976094 0170-8140365 Andrea and I are sharing the phone with these two numbers, one should work.

departed Helgoland, arrived Cuxhaven

Hi all, we had a good time at Helgoland:: birthday dinner, Martin's farewell, visit of the "Duehne" (amall island next to Helgoland with beaches and seal colony), drank "Helgolaender Eiergrog" (hot alcoholic beverage with Rum and an eggyolk) and went swimming at the heated seawater [...]

arrived in Germany

Hi all, this morning at 1040 we arrived happy and safely at Helgoland. We got a great welcome by Lennard, Emily, Kati, Dorle (sister), Manfred (brother in law), Kerstin (niece), Hanne (niece's daughter) and Nils (niece's son). Then my aunt rang from Hamburg and told me to tune into a cerrtain Hamburg radio station where we heard her greetings and a song played for our arrival and my birthday - how nice!. Manfred organised a special berth alongside the jetty, the sun is shining the whole day and it got rather warm - so so all is good here! AHOI! Arne and the Iemanja crew and welcomers

Hi all,
yesterday at 2050, we arrived in Hamburg at the Citysporthafen marina and despite the rainy weather, a large welcome committee was already waiting for us, more arrived during the evening. It was an emotional coming home and so good to see family and friends. When at 0100 the last guest was gone and the family asleep, I sat on deck and my thoughts went out to my parents Edith and Paul, and the friends Donjo and Torsten who are not with us anymore.
Today the sun was shining and friends with their children we never have seen before came along and Hamburg is waiting to be explored again.

We will be here for at least a week,
AHOI!

All grown ups are in wet weather gear, the kids are listeneing to stories below deck and now it's time for a piece of cake!

Hi all, we had a good time at Helgoland:: birthday dinner, Martin's farewell, visit of the "Duehne" (amall island next to Helgoland with beaches and seal colony), drank "Helgolaender Eiergrog" (hot alcoholic beverage with Rum and an eggyolk) and went swimming at the heated seawater swimming pool. We met nice cruisers, enjoyed the German bread varieties and have to get used to grumpy waitresses and shop assistants and the high prices for everything except chocolate. Here we have to wait for a thundery frontal system to pass - it is just starting to rain - and are now planning to arrive in Hamburg (Citysporthafen) with the high tide on Monday evening, 21:30. We will stay at least for a week in the city center and are looking forward to visit Hamburg and being visited by family and friends and readers of this blog. We motorsailed today together with my sister's boat "Antje", had my niece and her kids with us on board; they all get on really well and it is nice to have this family welcome-cruise.

Dorle, Manfred, Kerstin, Hanne, Nils, Andrea, Lennard, Emily, Kati and Arne are shouting AHOI!!!
