Home, at last...

After completing a "To do" list that was impossibly long and complex by almost any standard and driving 6000 miles through two different countries and in four different vehicles, we have at last returned to Symphony. It was wonderfully comfortable and familiar to walk down the dock and step aboard! An hour of putting the dodger back together, ventilating the boat, restarting the various pumps, electrical devices, etc., and Symphony is fully functional. All we need to do is get the sails back on, provision our food supplies, get the bottom cleaned, and we'll be ready to get under way...
As if! In truth, it will take us several days to get everything shipshape for our passage north and I'll probably have to run up to DC for a quick business trip (no job interviews, this time!). We were thinking we might get underway wednesday but the weather may decide otherwise. Currently, two of the four major computer models bring Tropical Depression One near Norfolk on Wednesday! This would mean 40-50 knot winds and 10-20 foot seas offshore....We'll definately watch this one closely and stay in port until it goes away!
