Well Scituated
26 September 2010 | Scituate, MA
We are moving again! After two weeks in Boston (well, okay, *I* spent one of those weeks in Baltimore), we hoisted our sails and left Boston Harbor. Anne's sister and our niece and nephew joined us and we had a wonderful sail down to Scituate. We took a very scenic route, winding through the Boston Harbor Islands under sail and roaring down the coast on a broad reach in 20 knots of wind. It was also fun because we went past two different sailboat races, both with HUGE fleets of boats, and whats more scenic than a whole bunch of sailboats all heeled and sailing the same way? Sort of like a school of fish...much more exiting than an individual specimen.
It was a relief to leave the noise and bouncy wakes of Boston behind us and discover that we still know how to sail and navigate...I hope we'll be doing a lot of both now for the seasons are turning and its time for us to head south more deliberately than we've been doing...snow on the deck is something I have no desire to see!
