The Grander Scheme: s/v Northern Symphony
Another simple dream...Another crazy notion: To make a sequel to our Grand Scheme by making an extended great loop starting from our home in Nova Scotia. One boat, two so-called adults, one or two children, and one cat.

Sign of the Time

After two days exploring Cayo Costa State Park by foot and by rented bicycle, we moved to Sanibel Island, home of one of the best shelling beaches in the world (so they say). We enjoyed a walk to the beach (with a stop for homemade ice cream) and along the beach. It was the most crowded beach we've been to in a while, but still enjoyable.
We found plenty of shells, but neither Sanibel nor Cayo Costa was as exciting as the first beach Leslie and I went to on Cape Sable at the southern end of the Everglades, where we found much larger and more colorful shells.
The photo shows one of those street signs that you don't see in our neck of the woods. Unfortunately, we saw no gopher tortoises.
