The Grander Scheme: s/v Northern Symphony

Another simple dream...Another crazy notion: To make a sequel to our Grand Scheme by making an extended great loop starting from our home in Nova Scotia. One boat, two so-called adults, one or two children, and one cat.

Historic Sites Galore

12 May 2011 | Norfolk, VA
Anne
We spent four busy days in Norfolk. We had a delightful evening visiting with friends from our previous trip and catching up with them. Then we rented a car, which Evelyn, Leslie, and I used to visit Jamestown Settlement (one day) and Colonial Williamsburg (two days). Both were interesting and educational, but three days of historic sites was rather exhausting. Even so, Leslie and I visited Nauticus (a short walk from the marina), where we learned about naval warships and destroyers and got to wander about on the USS Wisconsin, which is now part of the museum.

The AGLCA (America's Great Loop Cruising Association) is having their rendezvous in Norfolk this weekend, and though we are AGLCA members, we did not sign up for the rendezvous, so we plan to move on Friday morning.
