Floating Shipyard

Amongst many other routine maintenance projects under taken while not out at sea. Here's a before and after.

Short but sweet

Guests of Steve arrived on Monday evening with a bit of an unfortunate delay for them. Not to worry however as our 'Stand by to stand by' mentality quickly came into play. Dinner was served at around 12 giving everybody plenty of time to settle into boat life.

Floating shipyard mode

So were back in Palma but there's no rest for the wicked...I'm lying, we are having some R&R. We have 7 days until we sail away once again, so were squeezing in a little swim platform paint touchup, full rig polish, Mats pulled the ceiling apart in the master state room to source a hydraulic leak and the girls are provisioning for the next trip. There's always something happening to keep the boat in as pristine conditioning as possible.

Bon voyage Derek and Daphne

We were excited waking up in Mahon to find 15kts of wind actually blowing in a sailable direction. We were blessed with this the whole trip back across to Mallorca, not only saving money on fuel but giving us what were all here to do...sail this beauty. This isn't to say we haven't sailed much on this [...]

Memories of Menorca

Amazing stuff...We have managed to break away from the spectacular coast line and culture that Mallorca has to offer and make the short hop across to Menorca. Just in time for Sant Juan celebrations that is the place to be for this on the Balearic Islands, if not Spain as a whole.

We have an artist on board

I'm not sure how she keeps her brushes so steady to produce such masterpieces while under way. But I tell ya...this girl got talent.

Bon voyage Derek and Daphne

We were excited waking up in Mahon to find 15kts of wind actually blowing in a sailable direction. We were blessed with this the whole trip back across to Mallorca, not only saving money on fuel but giving us what were all here to do...sail this beauty. This isn't to say we haven't sailed much on this trip because we have...lots. It's been EPIC!

Formentor was our eventual destination. Arriving at about 1800 and being moved away at first by the local patrol boats from a sea grass area where we eventually picked up a mooring buoy.

The last few days of Derek and Daphne's sail were spent anchoring off Cala Ratajada, Porto Petro, Cabrera, Punta Plana and Punta Negra.

Most noticeable was our lunchtime anchorage off Cabrera which is a beautifully secluded national reserve island off the south coast of Mallorca. Derek and Daphne spent the afternoon on there own private beach and had a look into a huge cave on there way back in the tender where there were some huge stalagmites and stalactites .

All the crew hope Derek and Daphne had as much fun and enjoyment as we did...and Derek 'Because your worth it' (flick of the hair) ;-) It's been an absolute pleasure having you both on board and hope to see you sooner rather than later.
