After a slow sail over from Bora Bora and skipping Maupihaa because of the tricky passage through the reef into the atoll we finally arrived at Pamerston atoll in the Cooks Islands. To say we are having an incredible time here would be understatement. The hospitality that Bill Marsters and his family has afforded us is beyond description, they are truly wonderful and giving people. We have been sharing their table and life since our arrival including a wonderful Church service with the congregation singing the most beautiful hymns . Arthur Neal the chief executive officer has been giving us tours of the island and explaining to us how climate change and the increase in ocean heights is affecting the atoll. We are carrying eye examination equipment supplied by HIT and are giving eye tests to the local children with the results sent to the HIT organization in Germany who will supply the children with glasses free of charge. This is all part of Jimmy Cornell's Blue Planet Odyssey a group we are sailing with.
