Cruising San Blas

We have been cruising the San Blas for a little over a week now and it is an incredibly beautiful group of Islands. The problem with this is it has been discovered by the cruising community and it is getting quite crowded, and sometimes it can be difficult to find a decent anchorage. It seems that the local Kuna residents might be tiring of the cruisers and although in most places we have been welcomed in a few the locals feel it is there duty to extort money for no service other then claiming you are enjoying their country. This after already purchasing a cruising permit at $100 per person plus $20 per person weekend charge and another permit from the Kuna council. One place in particular is Gunboat Island where a couple of young ruffians came to the boats and quite rudely demanded money just for anchoring. It is to bad that a few can ruin what otherwise would be a fantastic time.
