Spa Treatment for Tahnoo
05 April 2013

It was time for Tahnoo to have a little dermabrasion & resurfacing, getting all gussied up for her trip to Hawaii. So we hauled her out at Opequimar boat yard in Puerto Vallarta, to patch up a few bumps & bruises, & to add new bottom paint. We decided to have the waterline stripe repainted, as it was pretty grungy with barnacles, scum & blisters. Well, once we saw how good that little bit of new paint looked, we thought what the heck, the whole hull really needs it, so she ended up with a whole new paint job.
Here’s the final result, & below a few ‘before’ & ‘during’ pictures. You may not see a huge difference in the photos, but from our vantage point on the dock she looks fully rejuvenated!
Now to prepare for the crossing. We are returning to Canada today, then Bill will come back down on April 23 & his crew members Ken & Mel will join him by the 30th. We’ll let you know how to track their position along the way – not sure if they will post to this site or send an email or what, but they’ll communicate in some way.
Hasta luego Mexico!
