Day 10 - Keep Calm and Sail On

Well, our elation of a couple days ago did not last long. Unfortunately, the repairs to Tahnoo’s alternator did not hold. They were able to charge up for a while, hopefully got a shower & shave, but then the 2nd alternator gave out. I don’t know what the problem could be that is causing them to burn through alternators. The result is that they are back to relying solely on solar & wind, but this has not been keeping the batteries fully charged, so they have to ration power.
At this point they are ~ 1/3 of the way across & have decided to carry on, in close proximity to Sea Reach, rather than turn back & sail alone. They have good communication with Sea Reach using a stand-alone vhf radio, so SR can transmit weather & other info that comes in via ham radio.
