Lobster Heaven
02 August 2007 | Thurston's Lobster Pound, Bass Harbor, Maine

Well, maybe it’s not quite heaven for the lobsters…and we didn’t actually ever sail to Thurston’s either, but it is a notable enough spot (both on its on merit and its part in our travels) to deserve its own blog entry. Thurston’s, in the village of Bernard in the west side of Bass Harbor, has been our favorite lobster pound (aka “straight off the boat” lobster restaurant) since our first cruise in Maine back in 1999. A necessary visit at least once or twice (or three or four times) every summer in Maine, we have brought many of our friends and family to Thurston’s, and this summer were able to share the fun with our friends from Symphony.
