Repairs

After spending more than a month at the boat yard working on various projects we finally got splashed and were ready to head out. We didn't get far when we found a leak in one of the metal fuel lines, at first it appeared to be the one for #1 cylinder but quickly realized it was the line going from the filter to the injection pump. It was a small leak but one that needed to be taken care of as it was spraying fuel onto a very hot exhaust manifold. We went to Stuart where we took a mooring, ordered a new fuel line and visited with our friends on Blue Bay who were already there. After 10 days our fuel line finally arrived, the old one had developed a small pin hole in it where it had been rubbing on the engine block, we now have it changed out and will be getting underway again on boxing day. The weather doesn't look good for a Gulf Stream crossing right now so we will head further down the coast and wait for a favorable weather window.
Footnote: When I refered to #1 cylinder, I did not mean to imply that it was my favorite, it's just that it's first in the cylinder sequence, I have no favorites but love them all equally.
