new anchorage
21 November 2010 | Pine Island
Howard/ mixed weather,mild
Peaceful night , we pulled anchor at 0730 hrs and continued our voyage South, it was a blustery morning with strong gusty winds and rain showers, we have a full enclosure so at least we were dry and out of the wind. The afternoon was more settled and we had a very nice sail with 10 to 15 knot Easterly winds. We arrived around 1545 hrs to anchor at Pine Island, a small anchorage just North of Vero Beach, the waters there are a lot deeper than shown on the chart, and one power boat arrived to spend the night with us also. In the evening it started raining again but at least the winds weren't bad. Had a good wi-fi connection so we spoke to #1 daughter and grandkids again, this time without the video function. We have two lap top computers on board, one with a video camera and one without; we try to cycle them so one isn't being used exclusively. The night was a mixed bag of weather, some rain, some wind but very mild, around midnight the anchor alarm went off but it was just a wind shift, the winds had picked up some but we weren't going anywhere.
