Miami bound
27 November 2010 | Miami Beach
Howard/ sunny,warm
Pulled anchor at 0730 hrs and went to Lauderdale Marina for a pump out ($15.00), diesel fuel ($3.71 per gallon) some gas ($4.56 per gallon) and we topped up the water tanks and got rid of the garbage for free so that was a plus, a bit excessive in price but that is what it is like at marinas, they have a captured audience and can pretty well charge as they please. We went outside again in order to miss some more bridges, wind was on the nose but we made good time and had the anchor down again at 1345 hrs, we anchored just off the Venetian Causeway at Miami Beach, a good place to do last minute provisioning as there is a Publix a short dinghy ride down a canal. We will probably stay here a few days before making a move to No Name Harbor or else straight on to the Bahamas depending on what the weather is doing.
