Wrecked fishing boat on Water Cay

Left at 0800 hrs and arrived at 1000 hrs to anchor between the South end of Water Cay and another small island, we took the dinghy ashore to some beaches and found a few sea biscuits, a very rare find, they are so delicate that any we have found in the past were smashed just by handling them, we hope to keep these in one piece for awhile. The weather took a turn for the worst later in the day with squalls and high winds, we had hoped for better protection being between two islands but with the swells and a very strong current it was very uncomfortable, the boat was rocking back and forth, everything was flying around inside the cabin but there was no place better to go, we just had to ride it out. A couple of other boats had showed up looking for protection but they received the same treatment as us. That night one of the boats called on the radio saying there was a fire on a wrecked fishing boat that had been washed up on shore, very strange because except for us cruisers there should not have been anyone else around. In the morning we saw two fishing run about boats next to the wreck, they must have spent the night on it after failing to connect to the mother ship, a little while later the mother ship showed up and picked them up.
