Blue Bay

Blue Bay.
We left Hog Cay on a strong Easterly breeze, we were sailing fine until a seam on our Genoa sail let go, we quickly rolled in the sail before the rip could get any larger and cause more damage. We continued on to Buenavista Cay to anchor and to sew up the sail. The rip wasn’t so bad, the thread holding two sail panels together was weak and it broke, after re-sewing, the sail was as good as new again. We spent three nights anchored at the cay before moving on again.
While there our friends Dick and Nancy on s/v Blue Bay showed up and since we were both going to Black Point we decided to sail together. Next day we had a very nice sail to Flamingo Cay, since we arrived early, Dick and Nancy went lobster hunting and brought us back a nice lobster-the only one that they caught that day. It was very nice of them and was much appreciated, we haven’t had much lobster this year since the local fisherman that we usually buy from in the Ragged Island had a broken down outboard motor and couldn’t get out to do much fishing.
Next day it was another nice sail to Rocky Point where we anchored for the night. The following morning we left for Black Point in light following winds, a perfect day for flying the spinnaker sail, both boats flew spinnakers pretty much all the way and we took a bunch of pictures of Blue Bay under full sail and they done the same for us, we managed to get a few nice shots. We arrived at Black Point around 5 pm to anchor among a large number of other boats, the most we have seen in a long time, and I guess that’s why we like going to the Ragged Islands, not nearly as crowded
