29 September 2014 | Bay of Almirante
Clear day
Peter ordered this summer a 200m2 Gennaker, to see if we finally could drive Tal'Lira at windspeed!! And when the sail came out... I was pleasantly surprised...
First testing with 5-6 knots of wind, and we indeed went windspeed 6.1Knots!!

How lovely,,, and Peter soo happy!!

Nearly ready to move on!!

Weather looks fine, Tal'Lira is nearly ready, some minor issues, but also a big issue, the Fridge is still not working, but as plans are now, we leave in 6 days direction San Blas. Zarpe is for a call at Porvenir!!

We lost the race ....

12 April 2014 | Back at RFM
Pauline
After 31 hrs of again strange seas, winds from 12-20kts, we sailed with the main and the Genoa course 180 straight South back to Bocas. We lost Caryali immediately after the start, first we got stuck in the sand, because the Keel was too low down, and second, we had other sails and options and no other choice.
So no race at all!! a pity, because we had to reach Bocas by daylight, we knew
the way but Caryali didn't. but they arrived, 3 hrs before us, and our friends in thE RFM Marina helped them to get in... When we arrived they were already sleeping!!! Its good to be back. We will now continue the preparations for the Pacific crossing, hopefully march/april 2015!!

Short trips North of Panamá

24 March 2014 | Isla Colon
Pauline
A small change of plans, but that is what happens if you are on a sailing boat!!
Preparations and repairs are finished, and we going for a test drive to the North of Panamá. The islands which belong to Colombia are our next target. We have no idea how long it will take, and what kind of weather is coming, but for sure its only 250nm and it will take at least more than one day. The plan is to anchor at
Sta. Catalina, Providencia. It sure looks amazing, and we met some nice people who came from there, before they arrived here at Red Frog Marina.
