Last night we ate ashore at Enrique Jr's restaurant and had a nice meal of shrimp and discussed the entire Gordo family. Seems like the family sticks together with sons and daughters, cousins and grand kids. Penny had a great time with Victor teaching him english and he teaching her spanish. Not sure if anyone learned much but it was much fun. Ernesto said he would take us back to the boat at 7 and we arrived at the fuel pier at 10 till and found it locked. Thinking that he forgot, Penny and Al went back to the restaurant to see if the family knew where he was but the restaurant was closed. We were the first and only customers that night. While they were walking back the door opened and it was Ernesto. He said we should have knocked that he was in the office. I think he was sleeping but he was there when he said he would be and we got back to the boat and to bed.
We departed Turtle Bay at first light in the company of Jim and Diane on Adirondack bound for Bahia Santa Maria, 220 miles south. I will be a 2 day and one night run with approximate arrival at around 7pm on the 10th. We have about 10 knots of wind astern and we are motor sailing averaging about 7 to 7.5 knots. On the net this morning we heard that several boats that are a day behind us had 20 to 25 knot winds last night and ducked in behind Cedros Island. We are planning on staying in Santa Maria for a full day to explore the beach and do some hiking but if there is weather coming down behind us we may take advantage of our window and leave for Los Cabos earlier.
Penny fixed a nice lasagne dinner tonight complete with salad and cream puffs for desert. Beautiful night with moon and lots of stars.
