Turtle Bay Again!

For those that did not read the blog of our trip North last year we were stuck in Turtle Bay for 11 days so became very familiar with the town. But it is a must stop as it is the only place to get fuel on the west side of the Baja before you get to Cabo. We arrived early in the morning, in fact had to slow the boat down so we would have daylight to enter, and anchored off the town and the pier. After settling in and getting the boat squared away the fuel panga from Gordos came out and we took on 263 liters or about 69 gallons of fuel at a cost of $3,103 pesos which is $248 at 12.5 to 1. I was a little surprised that we could get 69 gallons in the tank as we showed we were a little over 1/2 full and we hold 106 gallons. Not saying that their fuel counter is off or anything but I didn't see a weight and seals stamp on it. Oh well, what do you say.
We relaxed and took naps and showers and then Sun Baby Too showed up and we discussed our plans for the trip south. We thought that they would be tired and want to stay all night and not leave at midnight in order to get to Mag Bay in the daylight. Scott went into town to hike around and went to Anabelle's restaurant to make reservations for 7 for the next night. Not that you have to make reservations to get seating, but to make sure that they have enough food to cook.
So when the Sun Baby crew came by they said that they were going to eat at Anabelles that night and leave the next morning. So that changed all the plans and we had Anabell's panga pick us up and then we all went in to a good dinner. All had Chile Relleanos except Scott and I had Carne Asada. Penny gave the Margarita a 2 on a 10 scale but it was fun.
Back to the boat in the pitch dark but we found it and all went to bed early as we were going to get up at 5:30 Mtn time and get underway. We got the anchor up and underway at 0633 but Sun Baby could not start their starboard engine. There was a sportfisher that had just left and heard us talking on the radio and they turned around and went back in to help Sun Baby with their engine problems. We left and had a great sail for about an hour and the wind died and we are under power headed for Santa Maria Bay. Hopefully we will get into the 12-15 knot northwesterly that is forecast and we can do some more sailing. Don't see Sun Baby behind us and they didn't come up on the net so we don't know their status. Will talk to them at noon and find out. Hopefully something easy to fix.
