Christmas Eve, La Paz Style
25 December 2012 | Dock 3 Marina de La Paz
Fred/nice and warm
Ian and Ellen bought a turkey weighing 8.7 kg and Ian deboned it and made his own stuffing and gravy. The purpose of deboning the turkey was probably two fold; one so that it was easy to carve and two, so it would fit in the oven on a boat. He did an extremely good job all the way around including cooking and preparing the stuffing and gravy. Real homemade gravy, not the stuff in a package like he and I made for Thanksgiving for 200 people! Everyone was to bring a side dish and Penny and I brought mashed potatoes, Nana’s finest. Hard to find good baking potatoes down here so Penny brought a case of Nana’s Finest with us and I beat the crap out of them and they tasted just like the real thing. They have made real strides in packaged instant foods.
We had appy’s first (that’s Canadian for appetizers) and then the main course. We ate outside on the dock and we had 10 for dinner. After dinner we had desert and were treated to a magnificent sunset. A good time was had by all.
