Fuel Truck arrived

Yesterday we heard that the fuel truck had arrived while we were in Loreto so we went to the fuel dock with the boat to top up our tank before the expected rush. Bill and Sue did the same thing so we were delayed getting back in the car for more touring. We were going to have breakfast but it was approaching lunch time so we headed south to the new Villa Palmar hotel and had a good lunch by the pool. Ran into some friends from La Paz that were anchored in the cove and using the hotel's facilities. It is an all inclusive hotel and time share operation so you are given a wrist band showing that you are a visitor and have to pay with your credit card. They don't take cash except at the small store. You can purchase a day pass for $65 that entitles you to breakfast lunch and dinner and all you can drink and use of the pool etc. We left there with full tummies and headed back to Loreto for some more shopping and sightseeing. We stopped at a small village called Juncalito that has a nice cove to anchor in good weather. There were the typical gringo trailers that were there and then morphed into large palapa homes. No paved streets and I am not sure if they had electric and water. We left there and went to a development called the Villages of Loreto Bays which I remember being interested in about 10 years ago. I heard that Citicorp got left holding the bag for 300 million dollars but that it had be started up and was being finished. There is a golf course and quite a few homes that were very nicely done. We stopped and looked at a couple of models and found out that a Mexican home builder has purchased the remaining property for Citicorp and is working on completing the build out. The company is OMMex (not sure of the spelling) and they are well known for building Mexican housing. Unfortunately we didn't get to see the original area as the road was blocked in preparation for a wine and food event. Onward to Loreto in search of ice cream and groceries. Bill and Sue needed to stock up since they are planning on being out for 2 months and us less so as we are heading back to La Paz in a week or so.
