The La Paz Waltz is Almost Over

Penny - Sunny, Warm, 80 degrees
Do you remember that feeling you used to have as a kid at the end of summer? Sick at your stomach that the easy days of summer were ending and excited as the dickens about what the new school year would bring? That is the atmosphere here - folks are packing up and readying their boats or their selves for the next journey, wherever it may be. Tapatai is jumping and eager to get a move up the coast and see all of her old friends – and Penny and Fred are even more excited than Tapatai. It has been a wonderful time here in La Paz and we feel very fortunate to have had the chance to live here for the past 6 months. The city is beautiful, welcoming, there are tons of things to do, and of course, the people are what make this lovely place so absolutely charming.
Last week our good friends, Tom and Vicki Worth made their way from San Diego to Tijuana and then flew from TIJ to LAP to stay a few days with us onboard Tapatai. We wine tasted the evening they arrived and then immediately left the next morning for Caleta Partida where we dropped an anchor and spent a totally enjoyable evening BBQ’ing fish, playing games and telling tall tales. The next day we traveled all the way over to Ensenada Grande, which is a total of about 3 miles, and dropped anchor again. Vicki and I did a killer hike up a dry waterfall where the view was all the way to China – quite nice! There was lots of talk about getting in the water, but at 70 degrees, all the water that was used was out of the hose on the swim step! Sure was great having Tom and Vicki here!
So for now it’s time to start making lists for the trip home. Can’t wait to pick up Bob and Darlene in Loreto and then start cruising down the sea – we have so many incredible places to show them and they are always a blast to be with! More later!
