Life at the Farm

Life at the Farm starts with a woodpecker sharpening his beak on our metal roof at about 6:30 or 7:00 each and every day! Then it's up to make coffee and back in bed with the iPad catching up on the news and emails. Then we usually have a cribbage game or two (I'm woefully behind) and back to relaxing with a book. Usually there is a farm dog or two that come by for a visit, scratch and a nap. The weather has been very nice with a cool breeze wafting through. Fun to watch the beautiful birds fly around and get nectar from our banana tree and the flowers.
Also we wander around and check on the construction progress of cottage 6 and the two story retail building for James Percee. Anyone heard of that store? The girls knew it but the guys were clueless as usual. It's fun to go visit the workshop where there are a dozen men building furniture from scratch, metal work for lighting fixtures, structural elements etc. Very good craftsmen. Each cottage is really handcrafted with walls of hay bales and custom made window and door frames and exceptional detailing throughout. Lots of fun to live here if only for a short two weeks. Already looking forward to next year.
