Loreto
24 April 2015 | Loreto day 2
Fred/ warm and nice
We had a nice peaceful night at the RV park and a good bbq'ed filet. Our new compact bbq works well. Had cocktails with some of the local ex pats and will try their favorite restaurant tonight, the Supper Burro. We scouted it out as it is hard to find as it is on a side street.
Wanted to get tacos at El Rey Taco Shop a favorite of ours but it wasn't open. They say that if he can't get fresh fish he won't open. Also the Baja Sur 500 just finished in town a few days ago and we hear the town was jumping and very crowded. So some of the restaurants are just sold out or to tired to open. We went in search of a hamburger and found the best of the best. Even better than an SDYC cheeseburger and that is hard to beat. Clean little place next to La Damiana hotel where we stayed last year. The place served great youghurt and was mobbed by kids. This year she had sirloin cheeseburgers on a nice fresh and not to bready bun with fresh tomatoes, lettuce and pickles. Add a lemonade and you have the freshest, moist and tastiest cheeseburger anywhere. And all for $50 pesos! Also, who should walk by but KT Prather dropping off her rental car. Chip is bring the boat up from Puerto Escondido to pick her up and they are continuing on up to Concepcion Bay. Small world as we have been responding to each other's blogs.
We're trying to do some laundry this afternoon but they have to fix the water pipe. Our load is ready for the second rinse and then the dry so we standby and read and take walks. Hopefully there won't be mud in the line when it comes back on.
Tonight its dinner at Supper Burro and tomorrow on to La Paz where we have a slip at the marina. Can't wait to get there and see if I can beat Al at cribbage and see our old friends. Penny is looking forward to some girl time so this will be perfect.
