No wind today!
Weighed anchor Monday morning after talking to Gene at Mar-Marina, our home away from home. We wanted to take TARDIS to the marina to show her to Gene and his son Shane.
On the way we passed Miss Vickey's on the River. We spent EVERY FRIDAY afternoon here for months.
We made to Mar-Marina. Docking, our first in a marina, was a bit eventful but Gene and Shane saved the day by catching our lines. We need practice! It was great spending some time with them and sharing stories and showing off the completed TARDIS.
After filling the water tank and jugs we headed to our next anchorage. Still a bit foggy but safe to travel.
Our first drawbridge was on this trip.
Just using the VHF radio for the 1st time is an adrenaline event.
A couple hours after leaving the dock, we arrived outside of Dunedin and found our anchorage. Motored all the way. No wind! But that's ok, we'd have plenty in two days. This is a place that we've been driving by for years and looking at. Now we're here.
Valentines Day found us walking thru (bar crawling) Dunedin. We had the most fun at Rosie's Tavern and Eileen found the PIG. Got a FREE BEER and cozy(don't tell anyone!)
And finally at Old Bay Cafe for dinner on the deck for VD day.
The next day, Wednesday it was windy, small craft warnings and near gail force winds. We hunkered down and enjoyed the ride. Good thing is was daylight for the worst part of the day as we could watch our location to be sure we were not dragging. More on this part of the story in other posts.
Thursday we again stayed put enjoy the location. Launched our tender and pedaled to Caladesi
Then back to the boat for another awesome dinner on the boat.
Friday we got up early and made way, had breakfast while underway. And of course coffee.
