Round two Islands
27 May 2012 | Mount Hope Bay
Sunny. 8-10 knots from the South.
Ross, Erin, Niki and I had a beautiful 21 mile figure of eight sail around a couple of islands. OK one was a glorified sandbar called "Spar Island" but the other was a real Island. Hog Island. We sailed very well. Figured out that the best way is to use the bowsprit and then run the sheets for "inside gybing". Also figured out how to use the "Snuffer" properly. The penalty is worth it. It is so drama free. Niki is really getting the hang of helming with the Spin.
Also used the main track for the first time. And judging from how hard it was to move, the first time for the track for a good while too. Made a big difference. She pointed significantly better.
Oh and I went up the mast for the first time. One of the Lazy Jacks came untied yesterday. So Ross winched me up far enough to re-run it.
Forecasted Thunderstorms never showed.
