Changed Our Latitude!

HOT HOT HOT
Wow, what a trip! We left Hudson at 1000 this morning after scurrying around doing last second preparations. As we motored through the channel, Kristen was at the bow literally hopping up and down with joy as a couple of large dolphin escorted us out. It was a long 2 miles down a skinny channel but we finally made it out to open water. After going out about 10 miles, we turned south. There was too much seaweed in the water to fish but I did try. We motored for about 3 hours because the wind was directly in our face. It made for a rolly 3 hours. Finally, the wind backed a little to the west and up went the sails. it was glorious! The sounds of the ocean as the boat surged through the swells was like a natural symphony. On we sailed, enjoying the scenery and getting buzzed by a Coast Guard C-130. We saw a shark swim by (upside down but very alive!) and kept struggling with the fishing line and seaweed.
We sailed for a couple of hours until we neared Clearwater Pass then motored in following some ugly red pirate looking tourist boat. We ran aground twice at the mouth of the creek where we anchored. Kristen finally saw some private day beacons and we got in and had the anchor down at 1845. Now I sit here typing this for you and winding down from the stress of the day. Check out some of the new pics.
And just say NO to Gustav!
