Adak to Dutch Harbor Day 2
Position at noon: 52 39.11'N; 173 58.07'W Noon to noon miles: 107 Miles since Mexico: 23,292.
Weather: Cloudy, rainy and warmer Morning: Wind - Southwest 8-10 knots. Boat speed: 3-4 knots Afternoon: Wind - West 10-17 knots. Boat speed: 4-6 knots Evening: Wind - Southwest 3-4 knots. Boat speed with motor: 4.0-4.8 knots
We motored all day yesterday but we had some wind this morning. Towards noon, we put the spinnaker pole out and swung the mainsail to the other side to make a "wing on wing" configuration. It worked really well so long as the wind remained behind us. We had some great sailing for about five hours and then the wind died. We were back on the motor again. At least our tank is full and we can fill up again at Dutch Harbor.
