After a few days work, we took the bus to town to buy paint, rollers and other supplies. Air Marine Harbor is about eight miles north of town. The bus comes hourly and only costs $1 and half price for seniors.
While we were in town, we got some fresh fruit, vegetables and fish. We have been eating like we were cruising offshore since our arrival. We used some of the food left on the boat like oatmeal, dried fruit, nuts, brown rice, quinoa, dehydrated vegetables, seaweed, canned beans and canned fish. Adding to our diet, I harvested some dandelion growing on the slope near by the boat yard. The dandelion salad with fresh apple and sesame dressing was delicious. I noticed that the cost of fruit and vegetables was twice as much as in Washington State, but the quality and variety of the produce is commendable, considering we are so isolated.
