Wandering in Tehani
Side trip to Blue Spring
03/11/2010

Finally a beautiful day weather wise, so we took a side trip to the Blue Spring to see the Manatees, who congregate in the warmer waters of the spring. Because of the good weather, many had gone to feed in the St. Johns river. There had apparently been more than 240 Manatees in the quarter-mile creek from the spring during the cold snaps up until a week or so ago. Very pretty - a few photos in the album.

What happened to "warm" Florida

So much for global warming - a very cold New Year in Clearwater. Sure glad the heating system works well. Needless to say that there was not much sailing at 35 degrees & a 20 knot wind. But we were able to get some provisioning done, as well as shrink the "to do" list.

Hauled & checked

Tehani was hauled & the bottom checked. Everything in place & sound. Will need bottom paint in the spring.

Florida for the winter

Tehani is currently in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, enjoying the warmer weather of the Gulf. Plan is to slowly travel around Florida, returning to North Carolina in the late spring.
