McClellanville update

Nightfall in McClellanville was fascinating. We had 2 Purple Martins (out of dozens) come & sit on the lifelines, while the others helped us reduce the bug population - beautiful. The piling we were moored to had a Bluebird nest in the top (picture & gallery) with mama & papa obviously feeding young in the hole. And a very playful Dolphin kept coming up & playing with a couple in a dingy in the channel.
The other dingy picture is of Neil & Darlene - their dingy ran out of gas beside us & I gave a gallon or so of gas - they were from South Africa - he had solo-circumnavigated twice in a maxi-racer, & now owned a 100% carbon-fiber 55 foot racer which was anchored out in the bay (which they were trying to get to). In exchange for the gas, they ran us up to the shrimp fleet base, & we got 2 pounds of fresh shrimp for $10, & had surf & turf (with the bone-in-ribeyes) for dinner - fantastic, thanks to chef Chris. This is South Carolina as it used to be - great!
