We slowed Tenaya down so we would arrive in Bundaberg, Australia after first light. Despite what we've read about Customs and Quarantine, they allowed us to tie to the Q dock quickly and then came on board immediately. The guys were incredibly polite, professional and pretty darn funny.

Fearing they would take away some our many souvenirs from Vanuatu, I was pleased when the officer opened each sealed plastic bag, sniffed for bug spray, looked closely for dead bugs, found none, and pronounced everything okay to keep. Yippee! So many things have sentimental value. The only items not allowed were some necklaces made of certain seeds and shells, and the usual food items.

A week after arriving with us in the Port 2 Port Rally, Steve left Tenaya to go back home. He became part of the family in the six weeks he was on board and we will miss him. We appreciate his kind and mellow disposition, willingness to help and clean, and having coffee ready each morning. The perfect crew!

Tenaya is anchored at the Kingfisher Resort, Fraser Island, in the Great Sandy Strait. Fraser Island is listed as a World Heritage Site and is gorgeous. It is the largest sand island in the world and home to the purest lines of dingos (wild dogs) in the country.
