I Like to be in America
Puerto Rico is definitely an American territory...and that is a good thing right now. It is nice to have terrific roads, familiar stores and US money exchange. We arrived in Boqueron on the West coast of PR and stayed for a week or so. That is a jumpin' place on the weekends. Great little town and fabulous folks. We were sort of taken in by Jersey Joe at Los Remos Restaurant and Beach Club. They arranged transportation for us, gave us t-shirts, feted us with incredible meals (when they were officially closed) and generally made life there great.
We left Boqueron and traveled to La Parguera, Gilligan's Island, Ponce (where we shopped at a Sam's Club) and yesterday we were at Coffin Island. Isla de Caja de Muertos is a truly beautiful, unspoiled island with great snorkeling, swimming, trails and overall beauty. We caught a mackeral on the way and Robert on Moondance caught a tunny. Alicia on Sarabonde (and Bruce) each got a conch and her husband Brian got a MONSTER lobster right under their boat. We all piled onto Loafer's Glory (Larry and AnnMarie) and grilled our fishes and brought side dishes to share. It was a fantastic meal. We caught another mackeral today as we pulled into Salinas. It was nice to reconnect with Sandy Annie here and the rest of the LEPers (Luperon Ex-Pats) are either here or coming. Susurra, Loafer's Glory, Sarabonde, Sandy Annie, Moondance and Te Oigo are here. Lala and Opal are on their way as well as Voyager. Life is great. Pix will be inserted soon! Lovin' PR.
