Belhaven to Alligator River Swing Bridge

We left the slip at Belhaven Waterway Marina as Brenda pushed out our bow with her boat hook (longest boot hook I've ever seen!). The wind caught our bow as Brenda held our stern line in towards the dock. Such a graceful exit in a narrow channel from a lovely place to visit.

Taking Friends to Ocracoke, NC

May 2011 was a month of sailing with friends Stan Bradeen and later in the month Mike Johnston. Arriving a week early to get the boat ready I was greeted by 2 days of 40kts winds out of the SW and on day 2 a tornado warning for Pamlico county. This was a ongoing lesson in a putting anti-chafing gear on multiple bow lines and other windward side lines.

On May 1st I recieved our Fatty Knees dingy and spent the afternoon with Stan lashing it down to the cabin top for our trip to Ocracoke. I have choosen a name for our dingy "Pommes Frites". You can see Pommes Frites resting on the shore at Cape Lookout.
