Hoisted anchor at 08:15hrs and headed out past the bridge and set our course to head to our next anchorage 60 NM north of Bahia Honda. Winds are light at 5-10 knots out of the E.N.E. And then later in the afternoon gusting to 17 knots. In our travels today we have seen dolphins, sea turtles and what appeared to be an upside down sailboat the keel was out of the water about 4'(this was confirmed by the USCG a 24' blk & wht sailboat)
The USCG has my utmost respect on the way they handle all there calls, there professionalism, and the amount of distress calls they handle in a day is fa-nominal. Also we heard the coast guard put out a call to all mariners that a parachute flare was observed ½ mile off shore from Marathon Fl. Then We heard the Coast Guard trying to get a hold of a vessel by the name of “Wind Song” this is our friend from Mexico we crossed with we have not got a hold of him as of yet. We made it to our anchorage at Rodriquez Cay dropped anchor and had a sun downer, then cooked up Moroccan chicken with rice veggies and mango chutney (nummy).
