We're on the road again. Left Sitka on Tuesday and we are now in Devilfish Bay in El Capitan Passage waiting for some weather to pass. Paul is the master; the engine has been working great, just like new. Thanks again to all our friends in Sitka that made our stay wonderful and that gave us so much help, including that all important ear to chew on when we needed a sounding board.

We're still in Sitka waiting for some engine parts to arrive, but what a beautiful sunset we had the other night!

We've been in Sitka for the past few days doing some provisioning, sightseeing, and meeting really nice people. We took the outside passage via Cross Sound, which was amazingly beautiful (see our photos). We're leaving in a day or so to continue our southward trek.

06/24/2011, Sitka, AK
We're in Sitka, AK now after spending several amazing days in Elfin Cove. Two whales greeted us on our way into the dock. One was slamming his tale up and down multiple times (see our photos). On the docks, we met a wonderful couple, Greg and Debbie, with whom we shared some great food and stories. Also, we all went out fishing for a day and Celeste caught her first fish ever (a King Salmon), then her second fish ever (Coho), third (Ling Cod), fourth (Halibut), fifth (Yellow Eye), at which point her arm gave out as well as her license limit. Paul, Greg, and Debbie caught Kings and Halibut and a Black Bass. Paul also caught several Dolly Vardons from the dock. A special thanks to Charlie and Jackie of Cove Cat for the best fishing trip ever.

We finally have internet access for a few hours here at the Glacier Bay Lodge, so I've uploaded a lot of photos. Tomorrow, we're going kayaking around some of the islands here that don't allow motorized boats, then we're off again -- heading south this time to Sitka and onward.
