The photo won't mean much to those of you who don't spend time on a mooring, but we had a big event today - October 14th!
Two Helix anchors with Haslett systems have been installed at the Shennecossett Yacht Club. These are the first installs of this type at SYC, and more importantly, it allows us to put our boat (and Weyrling) in the SYC mooring field. The picture is our first day at SYC, secured to the earth by a Helix!

The last official stop on the CCNE cruise was one of my favorite shopping places, Wickford! We sailed up the bay from Newport - retracing the ride from the train the night before, this time, from the water viewpoint. We settled into Wickford and enjoyed the hospitality of the great little marina. The club cookout was that night, and again, the food and the company were terrific. Saturday, a few of us went shopping in town and I completed my pottery quest - I picked up poetry from all three places I went ashore - Block, Newport and Wickford.
Special thanks to Dale and Cindy for a great job planning and executing the cruise, along with their merry band of helpers!

The next stop on the CCNE cruise was Newport. We stayed at Oldport Marina, rafted with Breeze. The top two activities were the Cliff Walk (3.5 miles for the walk) and the mile there, and the three miles back, and the official "after the cliff walk bar." The other top activity - our dinner train. The entire CCNE crew boarded our private dinner car and took a trip up the bay. A great time was had by all (the liquor bill at our table can support that!)
