Hello again...
So after a long canarian lunch, we have decided that we might move on to another island or either stay on another part of the island for the rest of our stay. Maspalomas is a bit too lively for us and we were hoping to meet a few more people our sort of age but it just seems to be lots of youngsters binge drinking every night. Not really our style..!

On the way back from Las Palmas, we are considering taking a de-tour and getting some dinner in the village of Agaete about 30miles from the capital. it will give us a chance to see a bit more of the island before we move on either tomorrow or the next day. We are going to look at holiday apartments either in Lanzarote or La Gomera and see what we can come up with and then make a decision. We have no problem in staying later as we like Gran Canaria its just Maspalomas itself is a bit too lively for us!
Oh...age is really creeping up on me isn't is?!

So far the weather here as beenn fantastic and we haven't had any of the vigorous winds that we had been warned about which is great. We have rented a holiday villa in Maspalomas for a few days as we found a good deal online. Although Maspalomas is certainly a lot more lively then when I last remember being here! It appears that the secret has got out about the nightlife here and now everyone is coming for a piece of the action. We're glad we have private accommodation for that very reason!

Tomorrow we are going to hire a care and head to the capital Las Palmas for a day trip. The city is actually very big for an island of its size so there will certainly be a lot to see and do. I really want to see Colombus' house where many historians believe Christopher Colombus was living during his first visit to America. I think it could be quite interesting place to go...
Apart from our day trip tomorrow, we haven't got a lot planned apart from that. Just enjoying our free time and enjoying the canarian weather!

Welcome to Walter a.k.a The Whale's blog!
Myself and Patricia have finally got to Gran Canaria and have not regretted the decision once! Well for all of four days that we've been here! The boat is in great shape - she sailed beautifully as per usual.
Hoping you'll be able to keep track of what we're up to and where we're going. For those of you that don't know what we're doing already - We are sailing the Canary Islands in four weeks. Hoping to visit all seven islands within this time and spend a bit of time on all of them if we can.
