Cabo San Lucas Day 1

06 December 2009
We went swimming this morning! Finally, clear, blue, warm water! Hung out on our anchor chain and bridle - it's like a jungle gym for adults! Optimistic and Passage II are both here.

We headed to town with our dinghy, tied up at the dinghy dock ($3 per day) and went to get provisions at the local store. Woweee! This place is expensive (mostly American brands) so we didn't get as much for our money as we did in Ensenada. We stopped at a local place and had marlin tacos which were really good.

On the way back to the boat, the outboard started acting up and we coughed to a stop in the channel entrance. Great! We were getting razzed by the fuel dock guys (just across from us) 'eh you need gasolina?' "you should have stopped for fuel' funny guys! We ended up getting towed back to our boat by Jim from Rendezvous, an expat who lives and works in Cabo. Nice guy!

Though the boating community wishes he'd stick with Phil (there's too many Jim's and we haven't met one [...]
