La Cruz Day 4, 5, 6

12 January 2010
We've been getting weather reports that the swells are supposed to get much bigger so we decided to move an anchor a bit farther out in 30 ft. Rest of the day......don't remember (I did not keep up with the log on a daily basis.....BAD Girl!)

Cleaning up the boat in the morning before heading into town with Bob -Taisho. Really warm today! Stopped by the flea market and picked up popsicle mold so we can make our own. We've really been enjoying the ice cream places here, so far watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, strawberries and cream and of course chocolate! Also stopped for more pastries (we're addicted).

Back to the boat for leisurely reading while Jim dinghied around the anchorage.

We had planned to get up and out to another town & try to get supplies today but after the weather from the net, we decided to stay aboard (swells and 20+ winds). So reading again and 1/2 a new swim top made. The winds never materialized so Jim went and visited around the anchorage.

During the night the winds picked up. Had to go on deck to tighten the boom up again (the block kept clunking on the deck) and then it started to rain. Back up to shut the hatches (wide open). Between the wind and the waves, we had a really crappy night's sleep.

Just so everyone is less confused, Jim is Phil & Phil is Jim. Jim is Jim in the boating community and with his family and long-time friends but he's Phil to me and my family and friends in NY. Though the boating community wishes he'd stick with Phil (there's too many Jim's and we haven't met one [...]
