Ipala

19 January 2010
What a trip to this crazy anchorage! We rounded the dreaded Cabo Corrientes without too much trouble. The waves breaking on this side of the cape is just crazy.....it's so violent! No timing dinghy landings anywhere near here. Passed a few turtles as we went down the coast.

We sailed into the area and unfortunately even though we beat another boat here, they motored past us and anchored first in what was undoubtedly the best spot. We tried 3 times to get a good spot and had to settle for out in the wind and waves over near the nets, the moorings or the rocks covered with a couple of feet of water.

Since we got here just before dark we didn't even consider going ashore. So it will have to be just one of the places we've stopped at but can't explore. I don't know as we'll want to come back here with the anchorage so tied up with obstacles.
