Bahia Concepcion 3

12 April 2010 | Playa Posada, Playa Coyote, Playa Posada
We got to talk to the famous Gary of the Sonrisa Net (the weather man) who goes by the handle of "Gary on the Beach". He answered our hail for information as to where stores were. He's a very nice guy and has a fabulous voice. He's also the source for internet signal if you get his code and are near Playa Burro.

We moved the boat down to Playa Coyote so we could go ashore and get a few things at the only store in the bay. There's other restaurants and things around which may have supplies but this is the actual store for the locals. On the way back, we finally met Linda and Frank of Discovery (they are here at Playa Santispac). They said the same thing we did-- we have to go meet them the next time we see them. We've been running into each other all over the place but had never met. Very nice people.

We were going to stay but the winds picked up sending white caps and rollers right into the anchorage so we boogied and were lucky to get our spot in Posada where we anchored even closer than last time. We think we're getting the hang of the shallow/close anchoring here in the Sea!

About: We'll be spending our 2nd season cruising the Sea of Cortez. We had a great 1st full NY season from snow to snow! We can't wait to see what's in store for us this winter.

Just so everyone is less confused, Jim is Phil & Phil is Jim. Jim is Jim in the boating community and with his family and long-time friends but he's Phil to me and my family and friends in NY. Though the boating community wishes he'd stick with Phil (there's too many Jim's and we haven't met one [...]
