San Pedro & Caleta Amarga
18 January 2011
We took a short jump from San Carlos to San Pedro (about 17 miles north). Another pretty anchorage to add to our list. We got lots of shore time here. You would not believe the piles of seashells here from people harvesting all the mollusks. You could probably build a house from all of them. Most of the piles we've seen here are pink murex, a very pretty shell when it's not all bleached out from the sun. I'm holding a shell (not a pink murex) that I found among one of the piles. So no it doesn't go into my shell collection cuz I didn't find it exactly....well you know what I mean!
The next day we hiked over to the next cove - Amarga. A very nice walk through a typical desert landscape. At one point you can see San Pedro & Amarga at the same time. Pretty cool!
