Agua Verde

10 February 2011
Green water bay again! Not nearly as many boats this time as last year. We got in by ourselves in the south bight then moved closer to the north bight when the winds changed.

We found Maria's Tienda and bought some provisions. The Mexican government has sprung for solar panels for the locals! How nice is that! Wish we had some of that going on in the states. We watched the local goat herd come down off the hill and go across the stretch of beach to their new grazing grounds. We haven't tried the goat cheese yet.

Well guess who pulled into here before we left! We call them our little vikings! We saw them as we rounded the back side of Danzante. They are open boats with full ketch rigs and rowing oars the size of a panga! Well I'llllllll be! When we saw them (4 of them) crossing from Carmen Jim ran and put up our whipple in show of support and thought our friend Stan would be proud! It turns out that they are an excursion group out of Concepcion and have many charters around the world (think the group name was Knoll). How cool (crazy) is that?

Though the boating community wishes he'd stick with Phil (there's too many Jim's and we haven't met one [...]
